Aside from Zwift & Trainer Road I am pretty lost on what other apps/programs are available.
Any free ones out there similar; Are there any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
If you have a power meter, https://www.rgtcycling.com/ (free open beta), or https://virtugo.com/ (free trial).
Golden Cheetah is free.
Has golden cheetah implemented it's version of virtual power yet?
Tbh its not free but sufferfest is the cheapest of the big apps and my favourite. For £8 a month it's less than I probably spend on bike trinkets per month. I could never find the motivation to watch box sets or old TdF DVD's but sufferfest is quite engaging.
I've just moved from TR to Maximum Trainer and will link them to Golden Cheetah.
Maximum Trainer is similar to TR. You can use other people's workouts or create your own in ERGdb. Google it.
You don't need a PM in MT as it had its own version of virtual power. Select your trainer in the settings and you're good to go. Just keep tyre pressure and friction settings consistent.
Any questions just ask!
Road Grand Tours is still free.
Thanks all.
I signed up to RGT. Its very similar to Zwift ... although clearly not as stable; mine lost connection 3 times in the time it took to ride the paso de stelvio.
Its good to see there are other rival apps coming along to challenge Zwift. But at moment RGT is clearly a work in progress.
I shall give the others a look too, thanks.
