Ive got a set of hope mono 4s the older version, the levers have seen better days, i also happen to have a set of juicy 5 levers lying around, what would happen if i put them on the hopes, can it be done and is it worth the hassle ???

Might work, depends on the calliper and lever combination, and what the cylinder ratios are.
Obviously they both need to use the same fluid type, but you've got that covered.

I have an XT lever mated to a magura Louise calliper. It works very well.

I'm using Code calipers and Juicy Carbon levers. No problems. Howeverm the Code Levers to Juicy 7 caliper combo seems to somehow build up too much fluid in the system sometimes and thus the pads start to drag. All it takes to relieve it is to open and close the bleed port to release a tiny drop of fluid. It's a bit of a pain though, but it's not on my bike 😉

Depending on "master to slave ratio" you may need more lever travel.

I've run other way 'round mini levers with sram calipres - and thought it an improvement.

I've got a Magura Julie lever on Giant RPM Calliper and works fine, but as above, may depend on ratio.

been running juicy carbon levers with code 5s calipers for a couple of years with no issues....

did the conversion today, had nothing to loose apart from a bit of fluid.... btw this is on my DH bike (cove std)

front seems spot on... good modulation, much better than what i had with the original m4 levers, running a 203 rotor on the front, well happy with that...

rear seems a little under powered but has better modulation, (180mm rotor) bled the rear a couple of times just to make sure it wasn't air in the system, a friend reckons sticking a 203 rotor on the rear would compensate, not so sure on that.. ill run the set up for a bit see how i get on...

I've been running Hope Mini levers on Avid Juicy 5 calipers for the last year or so and they work just fine.
