Opened up a potential warranty with a retailer, after a brief email exchange they're now telling me to contact the manufacturer/brand direct.
What gives, first port of call is usually the dealer right?
I’d expect the company that sold you the bike to deal with warranty usually
It's a limited lifetime warranty, purchase was a few years ago so maybe they're not interested?
Disappointing and definitely gone down a bit in my estimation.
Maybe speak to manufacturer and see what is going on, could be currently if the shop is short staffed and the manufacturer is short staffed going through both of them might be painfully slow. Could be wrong though
If you're outside the statutory warranty, the extended part is usually with the manufacturer, but it'd be the normal for the shop to process it for you, assuming they're still a dealer.
If its warranty over and above your legal rights then its whatever the manufacturer says it is ie they make the procedure and usually its the manufacturer who does whatever is needed
If its your legal rights then its the retailer
Thought they’d help tbh, happy to deal with the manufacturer but thought they’d at least get the ball rolling since we’ve had brief email exchanges this week.
Bit disappointing to be told to they’re not interested 3 days later, why not just say it in the first place?
Just wait to the manufacturer tells you to f off
Hope it's not a Kona or a Cannondale.....
