Hi all.
Trying to think ahead a bit to a frame uprgrade.
I currently have a Genesis High Latitude which I like but I fancy a change to a frame fork combo with more travel. Currently have 120mm Reba forks on it which is the max it will take.
It’s a 27.5” frame and I have some really nice wheels on it and a XT 1x 11sp group set and nice brakes so really don’t need a full bike.

So what’s out there that’s not heavy (alloy frame maybe?), 27,5 wheels size with more modern geometry that’ll take maybe a 140 mm fork? And doesn’t cost a fortune either.

Yes that was one choice, slightly concerned the smallest one might be a bit too big for me (my Genesis is 16” and quite short) but it might be ok. I was struggling to find any other options hence asking.

Forks seem to be a big problem, since when did they get so expensive??

Can you not remove spacers or change air shaft to make your rebas 140 or even 150?

They were 100, I converted them to 120mm. They aren’t recent ones so that’s as far as they’ll go. ☹️☹️

I’d say Sonder Transmitter too. I suggested one for a mate who wanted to reframe all his Kona Process 134 bits onto a hardtail. He’s 5’8 and on the medium Transmitter. He quite likes it and would definitely buy again.

He was thinking about a Stanton Slackline / Orange Clockwork Evo (or 137) but ££££ and availability killed those options.

How tall are you?

Forks are pretty expensive now - especially with the shortage of stock and less need to discount them so mostly at RRP. RS Revelation or Yari sometimes come up at decent prices and are happy at 140mm travel.

I’m 5/7 but have short legs and arms and struggle on long bikes. The small transmitter is a smidge longer than my Genesis so might be ok. Would like to see a picture of a small size but can’t find one.

Yeah forks are the issue here!
