Just bought a new bike and would like to keep the snazzy paint looking it's best.
Any recommendations on gloss frame protection tape please.
Ta muchly !
What did you buy ???
Heli tape.
Cheap as chips on a well known auction site. Make sure you round the corners and apply it with a hair dryer to make it warm and pliable.
Mariposa Shelter tape. You've just spent 4 figures on a bike so don't stint at £20 on some good tape.
Cheesy..... Bought a Transition Sentinel in the end. Had a ride on a large and have gone XL. So far it feels fricking awesome 😀
I've used various so called 3m tapes off eBay before all with differing results so thought I would see if there is something a bit better without spending loads on an invisiframe kit.

just bought this off the seller featured.Same stuff been on my Bird for over three years and still going strong.I did wonder if the later tape would be of the same quality as my former purchase and happy to say it is.Applied with heat gun.
renton , you'll definitely have fun getting dirty with a tranny in the woods 😀 😀
😀😀
Do yourself a favour and get an Invisiframe kit. I've been heli-taping frames for years, and considering how much you're spending on the Sentinel, it's a very small amount to keep the bike looking new. And when you inevitably sell it, you can take the tape off and it'll look brand new, and give you that £70 pay back easily.

Second vote for Invisframe. Did my Whyte 909 in March and there are no signs of it peeling yet. The material is world's apart from cheap helitape off fleabay and the fact it's custom cut to your frame means full protection. Worth £75 all day long.
Any mileage in invisiframing a used bike if paint touched up first? Sorry for the slight hijack OP.
Totally agree with the two above. If a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing right. The best tool for the job is the invisiframe kit. Spend the extra and do the forks as well.
I also use 2228 tape to help protect the bottom of the down tube and chain slap areas if not already protected.
I’ve just Invisiframe a second hand bike but it was nearly new, prob on a par with a demo bike so only a few rides, and I gave it a full monty deep clean. It looks almost as good as new but still has one or two minor blemishes. It is still worth doing as it will prevent the thing getting any worse, but obviously will not make a used bike look new! I think for me it would come back to how far gone it is. If it’s seen a fair bit of use I’d prob go with the cheaper option.
I recently had my bike done by Shack Wrap and could not be more please most kits bespoke and all done on site. Cleaning the bike is excellent and I have not had to do any hard scrubbing, going forward I think I will always get bike wrapped. The cost for frame, forks & crank £145 inc fitting I think it would of took me a lot more than 5 Hours to do so really cost effective for me.
