I want to add some protection to my frames.
I had initially thought of using the Clear Gorilla Tape - recommended on a couple of face-ache MTB groups. But then noticed the AMS Frame Guard - looks pretty thick and not horrendously expensive.
It'll be on the down tube where my Thule rack clamps and around the head tube where cables rub.
Obviously the Gorilla tape is cheaper and can do multiple bikes.
Anyone had experience of either products?
I like the AMS stuff, it is a good thickness & quite tough
you want an XL kit & a regular kit to do stays, downtube, toptube, + cable rub bits
I just tried to cover the bits that were most effected on my old bike
Just wipe bike down with alcohol 1st & it sticks really well
its not full invisiframe but keeps the worst at bay
(oh & u can get it on offer at Blacks, look out for discount codes)
The clear gorilla tape works well but I found it a complete and utter pain to get the sticky residue off when it needed changing.

Thanks for the info, might try a bit on something else and see if brake cleaner gets it off.

Will also check out Blacks & local Millets (same group?)Â for the AMS guard.
Yeah, I found Blacks cheapest online, with a discount code : here
AMS on my downtube cos the nice bright orange paint was getting battered (why Rocky Mountain? why!?)
AMS has stuck well and ain't never coming off. Good, tough material.
