Hi

I'd like your thoughts on my possible frame choices for my bike build. I'm going the 27.5 route

- Ragley Marley
- Nukeproof Scout 275
- Orange Clockwork Evo

I'd like your thoughts on the frames and am open to any other suggestions

Thanks

Mike

In true STW fashion - suggest what you own. I've recently got a Bird Zero AM - was tossing up between that and the Clockwork Evo. Decision was taken out of my hands as the Evo's generally not available at the moment, plus I'd heard that the tyre clearance at the back was 2.4 max. Not sure how true this is, but I'd like to try 2.6s at some point.

Running the Zero with a 140mm Pike, and it's exactly what I was hoping for. Will chuck up a picture in a bit if that helps...

+1

I've had a clockwork 120 with a -2 angle set in for a couple of years.

Its been great! Light, fast+ durable.

I had a segment that cracked. Orange warrantied it promptly with no fuss.

5 year warranty on an orange if you register it.

If I was buying new I would be looking hard at Oranges offerings : )

Was really impressed with the finish and quality of the Ragley MmmBop I built up recently, the geometry and finish were all really good, they make some lovely frames.

That said, it's very stiff, even just jumping off kerbs you can feel the stiffness in the back end.

Have you considered any steel frames?

Massive fan of steel frames, so the Ragley steels for me...
not what you asked
alternativley, Bird Zero as i've got an Aeris 145...
But, I also had a preorder on a Banshee Paradox V3... that's what id really have over the other Aluminium choices

Have a look at the sonder transmitter. Lovely finished frame easy internal routing and light to boot 👍🏻

Thanka

Maybe should have added budget, up to £500 for a frame so hadn't considered steel.

The Sonder looks like a nice frame and have requested some info from Bird.

Has anyone come across Commencal? They offer the Meta HT AM frame.

500 leaves you just 49 short of the BFe which I'd recommend.
