Can anyone recomend me someone to braze on some lugs to mount discs on the back of my old Kona? I've been recomended someone but all the way down in Bristol, a bit closer to home (Milton Keynes) would be nice.

I never found any builders in the area, though three of us had disc mounts welded to old steel frames by a local engineering shop. Though I know that he is too busy to do anything right now.
I had them fitted to a 92 Fire Mountain he fitted them to an old Voodoo.

The Bristol lot want a fair old ammount as well as the hubs and disc set to get the fitting right IIRC.

Thanks Oldgit. Any chance of the details? I've been riding it all these years without a rear disc so I can wait a while if they are too busy right now. I wasn't going to get alot of change out of £100 quid from the Bristol lot plus getting the frame down there!
I've got a mono mini to put on an old Explosif frame, where did you get the your disc mounts from.

The guy just CNC'd one, it was dirt cheap. I'll see him Sunday.

Intrigued by this as also thinking the same thing for my old explosif. Would it be easier to do two frames and does he also cross brace the stays?

The guy can't do anything right now as he has too much on. He is actually a biker and I ride with him most weeks.

When he did the three bikes it was very straight forward. Just some simple measurements and then cutting out the mounts. A loose set up with some tack welds before the final fixing and away he went.
I took mine home that evening and had my Minis fitted in time to ride that night.
I didn't have my Inbred braced, but the older Voodoo was.

I'll see if he will commit to something, I was to be riding with him tonight so I have to let him know I won't be now.

Plus I've been waiting for him to replace the seat tube in my old Gios, bloody slacker.

Cheers fella you're a star
. I'm sure our paths have probably crossed at some time if you and the "bloody slacker" are Woburn/Brickhill regulars.
Not looking for mate rates or anything and as I said there's no rush, just saves me trekking off down to Bristol, or even worse, sticking it the post!
