You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Planning on doing a coast to coast ride later this year on my Horsethief. It's Fort William to Montrose - probably 4 days.
Planning on staying in hostels but will need to take stuff with me and not so keen on a heavy backpack.
Can you get a framebag for a Horsethief? I see Salsa do one for the Spearfish. Would it fit?
I would concentrate on bar bag and seatpack. They are generic and therefore easily obtainable and sellable. That will give you more than enough luggage apace for that trip.
AlpKit do custom sized frame bags.

Custome made in the uk, better and cheaper than everyone else too.
OK, I like the tailbag/handlebar bag solution.
Not likely to be doing much of this so buy used before, sell after works for me
Seems like folk are charging £40/50 for straps to mount your own dry-bags.
What's wrong with bungee cords?
I've got a horsethief and wondered the same thing.
I've opted to make my own ive seen a video and my friend is going to teach me to use a sewing machine.
What's the worst that can happen? lol
I did much the same trip - Ardnamurchan (and then past Fort William, through Banavie) - some years ago, didn't have a frame bag, couple of bits in a small frame pack, some stuff in a Camelbak, most kit on a seat post rack, inside an Ortlieb dry bag. Things like croc-a-likes, just bungeed to the pack.
