I bought some genuine volume spacers for my rear shock on a 2017 Scott 710. When I tried to install one it is just loose in the chamber and doesn't clip tight on the shaft as I would expect. It also seems to reduce the stroke as the spacer won't allow the shock to fully bottom out. Have I got the wrong spacers. I could only see one type for the fox float shock. The nude version looks identical. Any one else had this same problem.
Cheers
There should be a four letter code on your shock somewhere.. you can stick that code into the fox website and thatll tell you which spacers that particular shock takes.
You cant use volume spacers in the nude shock due to the tc internals already taking up space in the can
There's a thread on mtbr about using a .3 spacer. Links to a 2014 part number though so could be trial and error install.
Thanks for the help. I will do a bit of research into this and see what I can get my hands on.
I had the same problem. Turns out the nude shocks don’t take volume spacers that clip on the shaft - they fit inside the wall of the can (I don’t know how many times I went looking for the one installed in mine before I found it)
I got both of the below items and can confirm they fit the newer Nude shock (2018 in my case). There was a 0.1” spacer in mine as standard.
Hope this helps
