I've had a spesialized camber for two years, after 13 months the shock lost it's damping and leaked oil, sent back for repair £110, 13months later same again, thinking of having a look this time. when i let all the air out it still has a lot compression left, how do i release it before striping it down, (got the manual) any idea's, cheers

Haaaa - sorry but I feel your pain. I too had the triad on my camber - which at exactly 13 months decided to blow all it's damping out out of the compression adjust lever. I still had compression - as in resistance when you push bike down but so long as you let all the air out the can you can unscrew. It may make a pop as the can comes off just be prepared for it ....I wrapped a towel round mine and stuck the mount end in a vice.

More than likely it will be the piddly little o ring seal at top of damping shaft that the cam pin passes through. I got fed up with mine and never really got on with it.

Bought a fox CTD and the difference is incredible - the bike is transformed and the rear end remains planted to the ground. The triad is ok but has very basic compression damping circuitry and I always found it a bit "boingy" despite playing around with settings.

Was not going to waste a service on mine so I have kept it for canal path and kiddy trailer pulling duties (pumped up to 250psi)

Not a great deal of help but honestly I would suggest bin and replace! It was te weakest part of my camber.

Good luck whatever 🙂
