I have recent crashed and snapped the barrel adjuster off my fox transfer lever. I contacted silver fish and they don't sell it as a spare but they did tell me to try an old cable brake lever to rob one off. I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and point me in the direction of one that will fit.
Im open to any suggestion that saves me spending £50 to £70 for a new/alternative lever.
Wouldn't this work?
Cable terminates at the lever end which may mean some adaptation (i don't know the Fox post), but it works a treat with my BrandX & once modified the cable terminating at the lever end makes a lot of sense.
Threads on a brake lever barrel adjuster will probably not fit, but a shifter out old rear mech one possibly will.
Road bike down tube gear cable barrel adjuster is whats needed.
PM me you address - I’ll send you an old SRAM shifter one you can try.
A scott twin lock barrel adjuster fits, I just tried, so the thread is the same as old fashioned mech barrel adjuster.
Its not imperative you have one though as I don't think I've ever had to adjust the DOSS or Transfer post cable tension once installed.
If you've a couple of threads left on the snapped one (even by just removing the lock ring/sprung plastic adjuster, as long as you can seat your outer into something you're probably g2g I think.
I might have a TwinLoc barrel adjuster kicking about - PM me if you still need one and I'll have a look when I get home.
thanks for the responses, I'll have a hunt around for and an old adjuster before you go to the trouble of sending one but I may just take one of you up on the offer.
