So I have a 2010 Talas Fit RLC 140 - 100mm. On last nights ride whenever I unweighted the front of the bike (even just a car park wheelie) there was a "clunk" from the front. Nothing audible but I could feel it in the handle bars as a single knock type sensation. I checked the headset and seems tight.. so before I take it apart (or more likely take it to the LBS) I thought I'd see what the STW diagnosis might be.

Is it deffo the fork?
I had that trouble and it just turned out to be the wheel not done up properly!

If you're taking it to the LBS rather than investigating yourself whos been doing the servicing? 😀

I had this happen to me on a pair of open bath 150 talas rl's (2010).

I then went to coed y brenin. It got worse, and then the entire fork collapsed and had no support.

The talas cartridge had unscrewed itself inside the left leg.

However! An easy fix if you just open the fork up.

There is a spring inside one of the legs (forget which one) and it is deformed.

DO NOT take it to your LBS. Send it off to TF/Mojo/Loco.

I had the same issue, fixed in a jiffy for very little - may as well get them to service it at the same time.

Scaled - A mix I would say. I can do the every 10 hour stuff but the LBS does the more involved stuff.

Would love to be able to send it to TF etc but I'm in Canada 😀

Find a proper Fox service center in Canada then. They are expensive forks, dont risk them not being done properly.

It's topping out, which means it isn't damped enough. Read the instructions on how to slow the damping down. (Basically it's extending too far and too fast when unweighted)
It should be an easy fix. If changing the rebound rate doesn't work, then move onto more complicated/expensive fixes!

+1 for trying the rebound first. Too much or little can produce a clunk.

Then again, if you haven't adjusted them and this had just started this is unlikely. Unless your riding buddies are aving a larf at your expense...

If you have a good LBS then it's always worth getting an opinion from there = far more qualified than STW experts 🙄

Worth a try but it's unlikely to be the rebound. Talas forks don't tend to top out even with rebound backed right off.
