Just bought one of these and struggling with shock pressures/ride characteristics....

The shock is currently set at 200lbs (about my weight) and with propedal on and a bit of rebound damping, it is still a bit too springy on the climbs - I feel like I'm losing a lot of power, especially trying to muscle my way upwards (I'm on a 1 x 9 setup), which is my usual style.

Anyone managed to crack the settings on their own Whyte? Any experience setting the RP2 to higher pressures - I'm wondering what the max pressure is before I try to put too much in there.....

Any help appreciated!

I tend to gauge the rear shock by sag. 15%-20% sag for you weight and take it from there. The max of most fox rear shocks tends to be c.300psi so your safe. Bring a ruler and try 11mm-14mm of sag on the shock with pro-pedal off and see how it goes.

15-20%! The recommended is actually 25-30%

no propedal, 150psi with rebound 4 clicks away from minimum. works for me at 13st. Feel it would be nicer with less sag (sat more over the BB-perhaps i just need to be less old skool xc?)
