Help required please. Just getting to the end of a lower leg service on my F100 forks, and am putting the 155ml of fork oil into the damper side through the hole in the bottom of the leg. Problem is however that there's not enough space in the leg for it and when I push the leg down the stanchion to reinstall the foot nuts, it all comes peeing back out through the hole.
Do I need to take the top cap off the damper and put it in from that end, or am I doing something else wrong?
Silly questions first;
Have you checked the quantity of oil that is required on the fox site (off the top of my head that sounds about right)
Have you drained all the old oil out? (take the lowers off and let it drain out of the stanchions)
When you put the lowers back on extend the damper rod fully so that you don't have to push them down so far to get the damper rod nut on.
Silly questions, yes and yes. But well worth asking. Actually, I think I'll measure what I tipped out just to be sure that I got it all as I'll have to drain it all again now.
Good tip about the damper rod, thanks.
