(Yeah, WGAS and I know I should be looking ahead at the trail, not down at the fork)

Can't make up my mind whether to go for Black or Orange. Any thoughts on this trivial matter?

So far I've come up with:

Pros for Black: can remove/change the decals for a stealthy look.

Cons for Orange: More recognisable at distance, so could attract more attention from prospective tea-leaves.

Haven't chosen the frame yet, which makes the decision harder. It could be gloss black or maybe battleship grey and red.

Black will go with anything. Orange could clash horribly.

I'm guessing black will have higher resale value as well.

The very fact that your asking says to me that you want the orange - you just want someone to say it's okay.

Live a little, get the orange.

You want the orange because they look lovely! All things being equal, if your frame is grey/black then go orange, add some pop!

Find a matching orange stem and it would look lovely on a grey or black frame.

But fox owns marzocchi so it's fine.

Orange if there are other parts of the bike that are (the same) orange. Or you ride for Fox.

Black otherwise, as you say, you can go murdered out, or at least have different coloured stickers

If neither of those options are palatable, it’s not offensively expensive (relatively speaking) to have the lowers painted.

Loving the orange forks

Same ☺️

Though my next set, on a sunset yellow frame, will be black.

Have the orange 36s and black 34s on either bike, much prefer the look of the orange, especially if you're getting kashima coating.

Orange. They look great.

The key to life is getting as many bold colours as you can, in to all possible situations - whether they match or not! So much in life is bland and boring, so get the orange and brighten up everyone’s day a little!

Black, apart from the other valid reasons resale will likely be much easier.

Change logos for a bit of colour.

Orange for sure regardless of the frame. Recognisable. To me almost iconic product in that colour, bit like older RS forks such as the yellow Judy’s.

Update - 6 months later: Eventually decided which frame to get, not one that was on the original short-list. I think the hive-mind came to the right decision on the forks.
