I have a set of Fox Floats that have been repainted, so no decals etc. Trying to decide if they're RLC's or not... they have a faded blue dial (with lever) on the RH leg, with a red cap/dial on this that is also adjustable. Then on the bottom of the RH leg they have a blue knob that can be adjusted as well...

so... thinking the faded blue dial is the Lockout? The red dial is the Compression and the blue knob on the bottom is the Threshold Adjuster? So they'd be Float RLC's, right?

EDIT: hmmm... turns out that on the LH leg, it's not a air top cap, it would appear to be a preload adjuster knob (as it doesn't unscrew, just clicks as you turn it). So these are Vanilla's, right?

On RLCs that are old enough to have faded, red knob is for rebound, lever that surrounds it is for lockout, dial that sits beneath these is compression (low speed, if memory serves me right), and lockout blow-off/threshold is at the bottom of the leg, so it seems you do have RLCs, of the Vanilla flavour if it's not an air valve on the other leg.
Edit- listen to the man below, just re-read your post and not so clear about whether you have the compression dial or not, but don't think RL had threshold adjust.

Yep, the left leg preload adjuster means they're Vanilla's.

On the right leg:

TOP:
- red inner dial is rebound (the R)
- blue lever is lockout (the L).
- If there's also a blue dial, that's the compression adjust (the C).

If there's not this blue dial, the forks are the RL's, not RLC's

BOTTOM: Lockout threshold adjuster.

Yep, there's a blue dial under the lever, just realised this. So they're Vanilla RLC's then... how do I figure out what spring is in there? Is it easy to take them apart to check?

Thanks 🙂

Six sided 24mm socket on the top cap, springs will have a colour coded stripe on the side. Depends on the age/ travel arrangement as to what is classed as standard.

To remove the spring, you undo the cap on the top of the left hand leg if I remember correctly.

The blue preload adjuster knob should be sitting on a silver hexagonal nut-shaped part that just unscrews from the top of the leg.

There's probably a small amount of fork oil in the leg for lubrication, so don't just tip the fork upside down to get the spring out 🙂

The spring should have a colour-coded marking on somewhere (provided it's not worn off) to indicate its weight. Refer to Fox website for the colour coding chart.

EDIT: just seen previous reply ... at least we both agree
