Thinking about getting these for my Cotic Solaris, anyone got them?
If so, how are they?
Cheers,
Alan.
Expensive.
Expensive.
True! - Not many 120mm 29er forks out there though 🙁
Expensive, relatively heavy, relatively flexy for qr15 forks, probably likely to suffer from fox syndrome. If you're a light rider take a look at manitou's tower pro in 120mm guise. Check out biek discount.de, some cheap 29er forks there.
relatively flexy
That Youtube video looks worrying!
Im not light at 16 stone.
RS Revelation was my 1st choice, might stick with them - Srams website is a bit vague though:
29": Dual Air: 120/130/140mm
Does this mean the travel can be adjusted or is this 3 different forks?
I got revs instead.Wanted 34's really but would'nt wait (or pay £900 for that matter). Its a 15 minute job to change rs travel internally between 120 and 140.Mine are'nt the stiffest fork I've ever ridden (@120mm) but no worse than fox 32 150's.The rct3 thing is VERY handy too.
White Bros loops are worth a look aswell but I got a deal on the revs (eventually).
Out of curiosity - what is "fox syndrome?"
worn stanchions -regardless of servicing....or not.
Rorschach - did you buy 140's and change them to 120?
Does doing this change the axle ~ crown length or just limit travel?
Bought at 140mm ,spaced down to 120mm and will put them to 130mm in about an hour! A-C changes in relation to travel. The 2013 models are due out today iirc but are qr15 not 20mm like mine ( if that makes any difference).I was unsure initially as I hated original motion control with a passion but the mc DNA seems very good indeed. Not quite as good as the fox fit damping but at 50% cheaper near enough for me.
Where did u get yours so cheap?
I noticed On-One were doing some for £300, then the swines bumped them up to £400!
Now they don't even have them on there site???
I've had the fox's on order for 4 weeks. When they eventually turn up, w will let you know.
A number of the team are running these ( just picked another set yesterday) very well performing forks.
Dave has a set of the 140 CTD 29ers on his LTC Tallboy too.
As with all the forks the team use they're serviced regularly and through the course of the last few seasons (Endurance events (24hrs etc) we've not had any issues with what I'd call premature wear any more so than from any of the other manufacturers forks.
loco - your website down, or is it me?
OH cock! cheers will get a clever web man on the case. 👿
Bought at 140mm ,spaced down to 120mm and will put them to 130mm in about an hour!
Bet you eventualy end up with them at 140. 😉
Can you space dual position Revs down ?
Dual air yes, dual position no.
I only got mine because I bribed the Rockshox tech centre into building me some 8)
Mine will stay at 130mm ssstu cos even with a flat bar and a slammed inverted stem the bars are still about 5mm too high.
