I've just taken the Fox Evo CTD shock of my new orange 5 frame. Installed a CCDB air CS.
I noticed that when I de-pressurised the shock it didn't suck down.
It takes some considerable force even with no air to compress it, pump it up and its rock solid.
The shock is brand new and unused, so if its faulty it will go back to the shop I got the frame from...replacement then in the classifieds/ebay.
Any ideas what might be wrong with the shock?
If it's off the bike, you'll struggle to compress it at all if there's air pressure in it. Deflated, it still takes a lot of effort as there's in the region of 400psi of nitrogen behind a floating piston that pressurises the oil.
Ah...that's something I didn't know..
My old fox float was quite easy to compress off the bike, so was just comparing the two..
