Has anyone got a pair of fox defend or similar trousers to recommend. Specifically do they come with a ratchet tightener, or belt, and do they stay done up?
I've got a pair of fox ranger pants and they state size 34 but don't fit me very well and need constant tightening. The tightening straps are rubbish and undo regularly when riding.
I like the fit through the leg and the material so hoping fox defend maybe come with a better system for tightening up.

Defend has the ratchet, but there's no vanity sizing. Zero stretch anywhere, defo try before you buy.

Thanks. That's helpful. Won't be able to try unfortunately, so I'll take a punt online. They can always go back for a different size if needed.

I seem to be a 34 in everything but fox's 34 seems huge!

I’m the same.  I buy 32 in Fox now as I’m normally a 34 but have had to pull the ratchet all the way in on all the Fox stuff I bought in 34 and even then they’re a bit loose.  The only Fox pants / shorts I have in 34 now are Defend Pants, I still need to have the ratchet on tight but the fit is ok. They’re nice pants though, I use them for uplift days as prefer flexairs and rangers for normal riding.

I’ve got both the Rangers and Defend, I love the Rangers apart from their ability to stay up, I’ve sewn the adjusters fully closed, and wear braces with them.

The Defenders stay up on their own with the ratchet, but are considerably thicker and feel more restrictive.

Rangers with the ratchet would be my perfect trouser, Fox even sell the ratchet separately, I’ve just not got round to buying one yet. https://foxracing.co.uk/product/buckle-strap-replacement-for-pants---12-cm/91170.html

I've got a pair and can confirm they are rachet strap (what's wrong with belt loops?)

Haven't worn them out yet, but the fit is bang on for me. They have lots of air holes in them so probably not particularly warm, but warmer than shorts. The pockets are mesh too so I'm not sure how long they'll last. Thicker than Royal Apex and Endura MT500 trousers so I'm going they will survive a few crashes.
