Hi all
Got one of these on my new bike, have a suspicion it might be leaking oil. Any known issues with these beasts out there ?
Cheers

New.. Don't worry about a small weeping when new. It's to be expected.
Only real issue is dirt gets into the CTD lever dimples and makes it a bugger to move.
Make sure you keep putting thick grease on the underside of the lever. You can see the dimples when in c or d mode.

Thanks fozzy, much appreciated.
LoCo - along the shaft, if that's the correct word, kinda accumulates around the black rubber ring that slides along the shaft to show length of travel and just geneaally appears damp. The mositure definately smells 'oily'.
Cheers chaps

The wiper seal on the end of the air can and which the body tube/ shaft runs in and out of is designed to run a little 'wet' so unless it's really gushing out of the seals it sounds fine.
Have a look at aircan maintain ace too as it needs to be cleaned and relubed occasionally to kee everything tip top 😀

fozzy, not sure how it's being dealt with in the UK but over here in Oz the lever issues is being fixed under warranty, which is good as to do it you need to do a full service (for free!)

Some have also lost the damping which seems to be fixed by a full service too.

The lever leak is a different issue to the detent holes, ball and spring on the underside of the lever getting gritty from mud and/or corroding.
If anyone get a significant leak of oil from the adjustment lever it needs and strip and repair

Yep Loco they were doing the full service to replace the lever, admission here was the holes are drilled/cut too steep and the newer ones either have more angle or they are just filing them down once removed. As I understand it you can't remove the lever without needing to get into a rebuild/service?

No you can't get it out without a strip as the adjustment rods pop into the hole once removed, interesting they're replacing the levers

replacing or modding, it's not just getting dirty either, I've seen 2 out the box that are sticky, spring too firm & not enough ramp on the holes.
