We've changed the shock options compared to last year for a number of reasons. Firstly, we've been very disappointed with the performance of the Kashima level Fox CTD shocks, so we weren't happy specifying these on the bikes. The Evo CTD works great, I suspect as a result of having fewer bells and whistles, and it certainly benefits from not having the Boost Valve in my experience.

This just arrived from Cy at Cotic as my bike has the CTD Kashima boost shock i was wondering if anyone else has been dissapointed with it , i think it's fine but i do not have the luxury of testing multiple shocks to compare.

Mine could certainly do with more support but there again I'm a fatty. I'm not much of a fan of bells and whistles so at the time I get it serviced/tuned I might well consider PUSH or something.

Bought a 2nd hand one and had it Pushed before I fitted it. Actually feels better than the coil it replaced..

I run a 2013 ctd bv with trail adjust. As stock it was crapper than a crap thing and worse than the crap triad it replaced. Was very disappointed...... Sent it back to tf tuned who push tuned it under warranty & they are great, which completely transformed it.

The stock was too soft, platform was rubbish and constantly blowing through travel. The ctd lever did nothing.

After push tuning, the shock is much firmer, platform works brilliantly. I went for a slightly firmer compression tune as I ride mainly fast xc but when pointing down in the D position the shock becomes very active and so long as you get pressure set correctly, bottoms out only on the biggest of whacks.

Push it (or loco it) would be my advice. These stock tunes have to compromise for a huge range of bike frame / pivot designs. A rear shock really needs to be tuned to the frame and riding style.

Pushed under warranty? How do you go about getting that? I'm 100kg ish, dependent on season. 😳

Was it a faulty shock from the off?

Well I am not sure if it was pushed under warranty. There was no fault found with it but I was not happy. Tf (as I said, being awesome) push tuned it for me before sending it back. Probably would not have done that if it was more than a few days old.

The ctd setting are subtle - the climb offers better platform but unlike the rp23 I had before, does not lock out.

I tend to just leave it in trail, position 1 now and it's great.

*edit: I should say that I did buy it from them in the first place and I am glad I did. Cost a little more than the big online stores or from ze Germans..... But very glad I bought from tft
