I've got a 2014 Remedy 29er - which is a grand bike - but the Fox shock has had a leak since I bought it. I should have changed it (demo bike) earlier but didn't and then performed an Air Sleeve service (which went well) - but it still leaks!

I could clearly send it to Mojo for a service (starting at £99) or I could buy a Reaktiv upgraded shock from the states for £150, but I'd like to fix it myself if possible.

What could be causing this? I thought it may be a seal issue but those were replaced - otherwise some dirt or a faulty sleeve?

thanks folks

Could be an out of alighnment frame - met someone who'd had a similar problem. Is there any wear to the shock shaft?

I'm sure the Reaktiv shock is going to be more than £150?

Personally I'd send it to TFT simply because they're a bit cheaper than Mojo. The air can service should have fixed the air loss but it never hurts to let an expert give it a go.

Thanks - I bloody well hope it's not the frame alignment! How could I tell? Shock shaft is unmarked and otherwise the bike works very well.

This is the shock I was looking at

Undo one of the mounting bolts on the shock - if the shock slots in and out without needing to be pulled to one side you're probably ok. You could try completely depressurising the shock and checking the same further through the travel as well.

The one I was told about was putting a side load on the shock, that was causing air loss in use and later excessive wear to one side of the shaft.

Just thought I'd say, got the new shock the other day, fitted easily and works a dream. The fancy damping means you don't need to switch it to climb or trail for pedalling but the shock opens up when you get into the rough.

Is it a DRCV shock? If it is then there are a number of other seals the air can leak past that are not replaced as part of a air can service.
