So I need to service my lowers. Done loads of Rockshox stuff in the past but never Fox.

Looked on youtube - seems straightforward enough.

Looks like I need some 5 wt and 20 wt oil. (Fox stuff, officially.)

I have some 5wt and 15 wt Stendec suspension lube in the cupboard that's been sitting there ages (like, years).

Would you:

1) Gamble on the Stendec (Yes I know it's 15wt vs 20wt but it's just for lubrication and shouldn't affect damping performance, only lubrication performance)

2) Buy new proper fox stuff

3) Buy new slightly cheaper juice lubes stuff

Ta!

being that fox discontinued the teflon and have moved back to the 4wt red, I don't think they're super fussy

Damper side anyway.. air side, 20wt is "gold" and I wouldn't bother using anything else. Its really sticky stuff and iirc was intended to replace the application of float fluid on bushings/wipers at assembly/service.

The air side doesn’t matter, but the grip dampers can cycle the lower leg fluid through them, mixing something else with Fox 5w ptfe is probably less than ideal, though shouldn’t harm anything.
