Anyone noticed a difference in performance between OEM Fox seals/ foam rings and SKF?

The foam rings from SKF feel more like packaging foam compared to the fox ones, wondered if there's a reason for this other than cost?

Need to do a lower leg service but not sure which to go for...

Cheers

I thought there was a thread about this a few days ago with some expert advice?

Car park breakaway testing feels a touch better. Jury is out on whether there is a difference riding, but I'm of the view that the leas friction in the system, the better.

I really liked the low friction brown coloured racing bros seals. There were pretty poor actual seals though! Notably shorter service intervals with those installed.

If you fancy being a guinea pig you could try the SKF dual compound ones and report back about them on here 😀

I use the grey ones on 36mm forks and they work well. They're recommended by my local suspension pro's

OE Fox and Green aftermarket versions are identical. The aftermarket Green ones has very cheap nasty foams though.

I thought SKF made the OEM fox seals?

I thought that the SKF ones felt like they moved more easily.
Although the forks also had a full service which improved feel at the same time, so hard to separate.

Even without changing the seals, doing a lower service and re-greasing them feels like a new bike, so I’d say it’s impossible to separate out which seals feel better.

Pretty certain SKF manufacturer for both Fox and Rockshox.

I'm curious about the SKF dual compound seals but can't find any test numbers or detailed reviews.

There's always a price to pay for lower friction though. It might be money, durability or actual sealing.

For the couple of quid difference and marginal [but probably placebo] difference I don't know why you wouldn't just buy OEM. Aftermarket parts can make a difference in some places, wiper seals? If CP breakaway is that important to any-one, take a couple of PSI out. If you think the colour is nicer than dull black, then just say so.
