Just found some Fox 36 Float Grip Performance Forks - 27.5" on Merlin

Is the damper good in these?

Yup. Super simple. Not for people who like full control over all settings, perfect for the rest of us.

Came on my Orbea and really impressed with them, caveat - I'm a weekend warrior not an EWS racer

ok can get £25 loyalty discount as well.
Wasn't sure about the grip damper.

Was hoping you would say they're a bit cack to save me some money

Apart from the fact that all the advertising says you’ll die if you aren’t riding a Fox 38 or Zeb they’re really nice forks. The Grip2 gets all the attention but the Grip is also really good.

And a bargain at that price

Great forks. Easy to tinker with + they are compatible with the coil upgrade kit for the Marzocchi Z1. About £200 inc a suitable spring

I'd buy one, but here's another option...
Marz Z1

Or the coil version if you can go 10mm and £100 more.

Same damper and slightly more burly chassis, IIRC?

OP is obviously speccing this for a downcountry build though 😀

IIRC it was the fantastic performance of this "cheaper" Grip damper that led to Fox going back to an IFP design for the more expensive Grip2 damper on the higher end forks and ditching the FIT damper.

As others have said, not much in terms of adjustment but if you like fit and forget then they're great. As they're e bike forks I assume they're slightly more burly (heavy) than the non e bike version.

No stickers, I’m into that.

got my girlfriend a set of fox 32s for her xc bike. The hideous colour scheme version was half the price of all the others. All the colour was in the stickers, fork lowers still black. Thought that would be a fairly quick fix to steam them off.

Arrived with the stickers not even attached. Straight in the bin, hundreds of pounds saved. I like the no sticker black look.
