Is the damper open bath like the old float r or a sealed unit? Just want to service the lower legs.

The damper doesn't open into the lower legs though, servicing the lowers is just the same for both forks.

Rhythm uses a grip damper, which is "sealed" but self bleeding into the lower, so uses Fox 5 wt PTFE infused for the lower oil in the damper side, the air side uses Fox Gold 20 wt.

You are supposed to use the Fox tools to unseat the damper shaft and air shaft from the lowers, some people just back the nuts off and hit a deep socket, works if you are careful (can damage the rebound adjuster), it will can damage the foot nuts. There are aftermarket tools cheaper now, if you have a long threaded nut the right size it can also work.

Put the 4 digit code in the ridefox bike help website and it will identify the fork, all the service procedures, oil volumes etc are on the website.

Thanks bigyan, so when I remove the lowers will the oil drain from the damper?

Yet they still need 40cc of 5wt on the damper side?!

I guess that's because as they self bleed out of the top, they must recharge from the bottom.

Lower seal head will apparently ingest 5cc of oil after 125 hours use.
