I had some 2018 versions which I believe had the same chassis (Boost ones mind) and they had plenty of room.

I've run a 3'' Minion on a 40mm rim in a fox 34, it's tight but okay, a 2.5 or 2.6 is perfect.

Probably no help but a 27.5x3.25 on a 40mm internal rim fits the boost 29 version of the forks with about 5mm clearance either side
