Picked up a fovno chainset from aliexpress during lockdown earlier this year and was very impressed with it quality of finish and fit on the build. However less than a year of use and the crank arm bolt has sheared just under the bolt head leaving me trying to cycle home one legged ( more difficult than it sounds!). Local bike shop dont have anything similar and suggested a custom bolt shop but wondered if anayone had any other thoughts for a replacement bolt as otherwise the chainset is useless ? Or does anyone have a contact for fovno?
I know the buy cheap buy monkey metal mantra which means I have to buy twice but I really did think Fovno was onto a winning formula with this chainset

thanks all.....and merry trails at christmas !

You could try asking here:

Can you take some measurements of the broken bolt and someone might be able to help?

A couple of suppliers that can offer a range of fasteners:

Westfield Fasteners
Misumi

A picture will probably help as there's a few different styles. HT2, gxp style or even 3 piece.

Did I read Octalink steel bolts fit? they are m15x1

The fovno bolts are like cheese

or maybe something like? https://shop.windwave.co.uk/components/gears-drivetrain/fsa-megaexo-self-extracting-crank-bolt__4346

Is yours the spline type or hex taper? Either way if you continued to pedal the interface may be trashed anyway.

Best to do the other side too I guess.

Octalink bolts work on the 24mm axle version. But, removal will need a self extractor, as octalink bolts are too chunky.
Race Face Deus bolt may work?

@gingerman69 just out of interest was it the drive or non drive side bolt that snapped?

Are these cranks an axle with the non drive side bolted with a "do not remove" bolt, and the drive side with a bolt that removable?

Can you measure the thread pitch? Will be 1.0, 1.25 or hopefully 1.5mm

If I had my calipers in the house , not in work, I would have had a go at scaling off the photo to find the thread pitch.
We know the thread diameter is 13.85 according to t he mic, and we could measure the distance between the thread troughs off the part, or try the distance between thread peaks off the shadow being cast by the bolt. Not ideal I know , but I have done similar in the past where necessity called for it.
Or just use a known thread to measure the pitch against.
M6 coarse is 1mm, M8 coarse is 1.25mm, and M10 coarse is 1.5mm.
Try to get as much thread of the known coarse bolt lying against your broken bolt thread as possible to get a good accuracy. I have yet to see an M14x1.1 for example, but no doubt someone somewhere uses one. Its pretty unlikely they have mixed metric and imperial measurements together, like M14 x 26tpi or something.
Most metric machine threads being used as general fixings or those from B&Q are almost always metric coarse.

If its the same as FSA M14 I have a spare lurking somewhere you can have. If you anywhere near the Tweed Valley you are welcome to pop round and try it

I have two sets of these cranks and haven't broken a bolt yet, although I did see another owner's woes about the bolts breaking on YouTube.

They explained the issue with bolts and why they fail in great detail here:

I don't do my bolts up to the full 50Nm, instead opting for about 40 to 45Nm.

Nothing has come loose in over a year of riding, and I periodically check them.

Replacement bolts can be found on Ali: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003574303019.html (Although the pricing is messed up on the listing so you'd need to contact the seller)
