You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm rebuilding my wifes bike after a fairly long period as parts (stored indoors though) and I've hit a snag with the formula RX front brake.
Upon initial assembly the front brake lever wasn't returning to the "off" position properly - as if the spring inside had failed and the lever was free to move in and out with no resistance. Pads were moving though.
I stripped and cleaned up the master cylinder, bled the brake and the lever action was spot on and the brake operated just fine.
Two days later the lever is back to how it was - floppying about after putting the brakes on.
I've spent time last night and have found a few spares (at crazy prices) but I can't find the main diaphragm online anywhere.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what's causing the floppy lever action and / or know where I can get the large diaphragm rubber seal from?
thanks
can you take a video? Mine is still a bit floppy after crashes and a rebuild but it's working fine.

which bit are you after?
Try Silverfish who are UK distributors for Formula.
I had similar problem with T1 and eventually replaced complete unit.
I'm at work now and bike is at home so I'll sort out a video later on.
But if you imagine you've pulled on the front brake, and normally the lever returns outwards (as if the brake was now off) on my bike the lever doesn't return away from the bar as normal, but it's free to move back and forth with no resistance at all, as if it's no longer connected to the internals.
So, it's not floppy up and down but towards and out from the bar if that makes sense.
I was hoping to get a complete rebuild kit but it looks like they don't exist so I was planning on getting the lever adjustment kit (as that has a rubber seal that might need replacing), the master cylinder piston kit (current one is working fine, but it might be the seals I need) and I was hoping to get the large rubber diaphragm that is in the lower half of the master cylinder, but I can't find that for sale anywhere.
thanks frank - I'll call them later
smurf - I’ve got an RX front brake in the garage I think, which was in good working condition if I recall, so if I can find it it’s your for the cost of postage and a pint as I don’t think I’ll ever use it again.
JE James carry a range of Formula spares - if Yetiman's offer doesn't work out.
yetiman - that's very kind.
I'm after a black RX master cylinder...so if we've got a match then I'd be very grateful for the replacement...the internals alone would be great to have.
I've sent you a PM
