Hi all. Need some advice. Just fitted a new set of Cura 4s. Shortened hoses and bled using Formulas bleed kit and method. With bleed blocks in there was maybe 1cm of lever travel. Refitted pads, wheels, etc and can pull the levers to within 1cm of bars before hard contact. Can pull all the way to bars with force.
Re-bled using Sram method and got a loads of air out of the levers (callipers all good). With bleed blocks in there was maybe 1cm of lever travel. Refitted everything and can pull the levers to within 1cm of bars before hard contact. Can pull all the way to bars with force.
Before I do it all again or take to LBS anyone got any suggestions?
Ta.

Sounds like you have still got air in the system, the fact they don't bite could just be that you need to advance the pads. You tend to get a lot of lever travel if you push the pistons all the way back for bleeding.

I had this first time I shortened/bled mine. did again after ride by attaching on lever and did a suck and push on the lever a few times a surprising amount of air came out of lever.

My front cura 2 was fine after the first bleed the rear took a couple of goes. I ended up leaving it over night with the  bike in a vertical position, to get air to travel up to the lever. then bleed the lever end and that sorted it.

squeezing the lever a few times while you bleed it helps get air out.

Thanks all. Put it upside down for the day, re-bled levers and advanced the pistons - they seem a bit sticky (will lube too) and now all seems ok. Just needs a good ride to get it all bedded in.
