Anyone know of cheaper servicing centres in Eastern Europe? The aim is to do it myself soon, but in the meantime I need to give my bike some lovin'. It's approx €120 per item nearby where I live which is a bit insane.

Shirley the shipping costs to and fro would wipe out any discounts? £100/€120 is about the going rate tbh

Thanks Tom - I am based in Luxembourg so the postage is not so bad. I need to service them regularly because of the amount of riding I do so €120 is a fair whack a couple of times a year. I suppose I need to get off my arse and start doing it myself.

I am in Germany and I have never seen any non brand/distributor servicing advertised.

I don't think you really need a twice a year service no matter how many miles you do. The fabled fox 15 ride hour service was nothing more than cleaning the seals and putting a drop of fluid on the foam, barely a more complex job than oiling a chain.

At most maybe an oil change every 6 months, and that's well within the capability of most people as well (for fox and rockshox, I suppose some manufacturers could be more complex), there are some good videos on youtube that show how simple it actually is. And even then unless there is a fault with the seals I expect the oil you take out would be as clean as the oil you replace it with.

Try 'Joos' based on the outskirts of Konstanz, southern Germany - they are a very popular bike shop here mate and have a good service team and reputation. A mate of mine has his Storck cx and race xc bikes serviced there and is always saying how good they are.

Most staff have a working knowledge of English too.

Msp I service shocks and forks day in day out and honestly can’t remember the last time I opened a fork or shock damper to find clean oil
It’s always absolutely hanging
