Hi, So I have an old 20mm Pro2 hub currently laced to a 26" rim sat doing nothing.

I'm thinking of upgrading the front of my 29er from it's current QR set-up to bolt through forks by lacing the 29er rim to this hub.

As I understand it 20mm is 110mm wide. Does that mean if I changed the endcaps to 15mm I would need a boost fork or can I just get a normal non-boost fork?

Yes, if you have Boost/110mm hub you would need a Boost/110mm fork irrespective of the end caps

Pro2 is 100mm with QR or 15mm, and 110mm with 20mm end caps.

Change to 15mm end caps and use non-Boost fork, or get the Boost adaptor and run Boost forks.

If you fit 15mm end caps it’ll need a non-Boost fork as it’s not a Boost hub shell.

Unless Hope make Boost conversion end caps in which case you’d have both options.

If you're gonna be doing a new wheel build for 29in boost, I'd start with a proper boost hub myself.

Front hubs are much of a muchness anyway.

What cha****ng said unless money is very tight. If you are determined to reuse the hub then Hope do a boost kit which requires a re dish. Since your rebuilding the wheel that's not an issue. Front hubs are cheap though so better to flog the wheel and just get a boost hub.

It’s not as easy as you might think to get new non boost forks, not at the shiny end anyway. Worth considering for the future.
