I run a pair of Fox 36 RC2 forks set at 150mm on my hardtail. I'm a set and forget kind of guy, dialled them in when I first got them and haven't touched them since.
I have recently changed wheels from a mismatched pair of Bontrager/Spank rims to a set of Enve M70 rims, and the additional stiffness from the front wheel is translating to a less 'supple' feeling front end, particularly in the smaller/faster hits.
What should I tweak in the fork to soften it back up off the top? Simply take a bit of pressure out, maybe something in the high/low speed compression settings or rebound? I don't want to muck around too much as it's not miles off where I like it, but I'd like to dial back in some of the 'smoothness' if I can.
Advice welcome and appreciated!
same tyre pressures ? Same wheel width ?
Good point @weeksy, no.
Tyres from 2.3 DHF/DHR on the old wheels to 2.3 Butcher/Slaughter on the new, probably a bit higher pressure too due to one too many pinches on the old set up.
Not sure on wheel width I'm afraid.
Start with tyre pressure before mucking around with the fork?
Could well be the tyre pressure, have a play with it first
