Hi all,
I have a Pace RC40XCFR fork,2005 model,& on the servicing instructions it says to use 10wt oil.Problem is,i've run out of the stuff!I do,however, have plenty of 7wt oil. So,could I use this instead, will it be detrimental,or improve the performance of the fork?
How do the oil weights work,is 10wt thicker than 7wt,or vice versa?
Gaz

10wt is thicker than 7wt and so will give more damping, you could use the 7wt and correct for the difference with changing the air gap but personally i would run down to halfords and pick up a bottle for a fiver...

depends what brand of 7wt you have and what brand of 10wt the manual calls for. Not all 10wt oils are equal. There's a table produced by a chap on a site called PVD designs or something that lists them all comparatively. However, there's nothign wrong with a little oil wight experimentation. If it doesn't work, swap it again.
