Want a nice battery powered headlamp for the road bike which mounts through the central. fork hole (like the Schmidt dynamo lamps).
Does anyone have any suggestions for something metal and that will look right on a custom steel bike!?

You can get a bracket from Cat Eye that mounts their lights on the fork.

B& M german spec lights do such a good job of lighting up the road thats the direction I would go down - a proper beam pattern so you don't dazzle drivers but can still see the road.
