I'm wanting to move the turbo in to the garage but really need to make it a bit more compact. Has anyone used a fork mount designed for transporting the bike fixed to the wall or this? Obvious concern is that they aren't designed for such loads but I'm sub 60kg so not really loading it in the way others might 🙂
And if anyone has done it a recommendation for something that hasn't killed you would be nice.
Thanks
Of course I could have given it 2 seconds of thought loosened the stem and turned the front wheel through 90 degrees 😂

I’m doing similar. One of these and I’ll knock up a box out of some ply to stand it on. Was going to make it deep enough to mount two fans too pointing up.
Box for fans sounds like a good plan. Another reason for moving it to the garage is to put it somewhere cooler
Kreitler make exactly what you want. It’s for people who can’t master rollers or want to put more power down.

Rotating the front wheel is a decent alternative. Since the bike is clamped at the back, a less robust solution is possible Kickr climb is the other alternative
That Kreitler stand takes up even more space than a front wheel though!
I have a t-shaped bit of wood bolted to an old hub, works great. Turning the fork around saved more space. There are some minor drawbacks to it, well one drawback really, which is that it looks like this:
True but it’s designed to hold the rider up on rollers. I like the wood and hub option.
Just realised that's the prototype with just an axle, the finished version is much better but somehow looks even worse
I'll start with the wheel turned and see how it is. The bike is only ever used on the turbo so it's not like I have to keep resetting it
Good to know though that a bit of wood and a bolt through an old axle will work though
tada. Took about half hour with some scrap wood and a pocket hole jig.

@Northwind is it stable enough like that? Was thinking of turning my old frame/back wheel into a turbo bike for winter and making exactly that sort of thing so I don't need a useless front wheel. Just wasn't sure if it needed to be bigger for stability!
Aye, works great for me anyway, it'll twist around if you pull on the bars much but I don't do that. Basically the turbo is doing most of hte work and the "stand" is just a prop.
Probably a good test is if you find the bars/tyre moving much when you're on the turbo my approach might not be for you, but otherwise it'll be fine
I didn't need something so wide but I wanted somewhere to put my fan, and keep my shoes under.
if you think about a normal front wheel setup it sits on a tiny contact patch and doesn't fall over.
My turbo set up in my garage is about as compact as you can get, never used a front wheel, the forks sit on top of a bit of 4x2 that's sits on top of a tool box, my turbo is a wahoo so when I'm finished I just lift the forks and the bike pivots against the wall ready for next time
