Looking for a fork mount for 100 x 15mm for inside the car. Want to mount to onto a wooden base but struggling to find any that don't cost silly money. Failing that a length of aluminium pipe with ain internal diameter of 15mm would work.
Any recommendations?
Rocky mounts, kuat, Thule, swagman, delta... Lots available over here $30-60 range
I use a seasucker fork mount, paid £20 a few year ago, look like they're about £30 now. There's some on Tredz called Delta Hitch that look similar for £17
Rocky Mounts are expensive! In the UK one is £46! Swagman even more just for a bit of pipe!
The delta hitch would be ideal but only for 110mm not 100mm.
Can't find a seal sucker, thule, or any other one in the right size.
Think I'll look for some pipe from Wickes or similar and make my own.
That Delta one may still do the job (with a little mod).
The actual 'base' dimensions show 100mm width so you may just need to trim the silver insert tube down from 110 wide to suit?
I just use pvc conduit with some good conduit saddles screwed into a length of wood
I use these in my van http://www.peruzzosrl.com/en/bike-carrier/accessories/art-407.php
I had to make little "L" brackets to attach them to the floor (they are meant to convert QR roof carriers to take bolt through). They fit 15mm boost and non boost and 20mm so quite handy.
They retail for 20 quid, any LBS that deals with Raleigh can get them for you

That's a good idea.
So I've been playing around with different PVC tubes and a little 3D printing to make spacers inside the tube to accommodate 15mm and 5mm QR for my road bike and it seems to work well. Now to work out the best way to position the bike in the car (forwards or backwards). Backwards sounds easier, but forwards would give more room for handlebars. Planning on making a plywood floor (12 or 18mm) for the boot so I can bolt the mounts down or even mount them to a small piece of wood that rotates so handle bars don't hit each other.
