Whats good / recommended currently? I'm out of the Juice Lubes fork spray, I currently have the Muc Off silicone spray on a basket, are we all good with that?
Why would you not just dribble on, bounce fork, and wipe off excess of whatever weight oil is the lowers? Or am I massively wrong?
If needed, I just put a bit of fork lowers oil from a syringe on it and cycle the fork. But if I am doing that then it means I probably need to do a lowers service.
Nothing - if you need to lube your uppers its because the lowers are dry. Its a self-lubricating system when it's working.
Been using finish line wet chain lube on my forks for years to keep the stantions and seals clean. Few drops on, cycle the forks, wipe off with a clean tissue. Never had an issue and it keeps them smooth. Also do the same with rear shocks and dropper posts.
I only do this to keep them clean.
Always done the muc off silicone spray thing after cleaning or riding.
fox float fluid decant into a chain oil bottle should last you about 15_ years.... which how long it's lasted me
At various points I've used the following
Wet lube
left over fork oil (wrong wt for servicing)
motor oil (left over)
put in an old bottle, dribble round seal bounce, wipe. It used to be a thing that this would clear the last of the dirt/water from the seal. It does seem to work.
