Hi I've got a Pipedream Sirius frame which apparently is good for 90-130mm fork travel now I have a pair of fox forks but they are 140mm would it make much difference or is it a big fat no? Thanks for reading this, Mark
you'll surely die in a in a blazing fireball the first time you ride it!
in reality, other than invalidating the warranty, i don't think it will make that much difference. and extra 10mm isn't going to ruin the geometry and on a steel frame i can't see there being any safety issues.
depending what fox forks they are you could reduce the travel to 130mm if you're worried about it
There was a thread on pinkbike listing axle to crown lengths.
There is some variation between forks of different brands with same travel.
And then add in potential variations in sag, you could be getting quite close.
You should be alright, just might not be in it's sweet spot for handling.
see if you can find out the recommended (or warranty max) a-c length and check the fork you want to put on.
Can you add a travel spacer or maybe just run it with a touch more sag.
