I've been getting great advice from Singular Sam on a facebook discussion about effect of changing fork geometry, wondering about your experiences/opinions.

On my Krampus, I've got Krampus forks. 485mm A2C, 47mm offset
I'm wondering about upgrading to something lighter and with bolt-thru axle.
One option is the Exotic monocoque fork. 490mm A2C and 42mm offset. Increase in length and decrease in offset will both increase trail, which will slow handling down. Its hardly a twitchy beast right now though. Would knocking 10mm off the stem balance things out?

Draw it life-size on a piece of paper, and then stop worrying as it's bu99er all difference?

No, that's a noticeable change in trail, a shorter stem will not make it the same as before.

I'd expect the increased trail might be felt in the low-speed handling, you might find the added flop in the steering at low speed a negative for climbing or loaded riding etc. A shorter stem might help to handle that but it won't change the fact it's there. Depends what the starting point is though, some bikes will accomodate that change, others may be stable / long-trail enough already.
