I want to remove the tatty stickers and replace them with new ones. What's the best way to remove them??
If the decals are stuck on the surface they will come off quite easily with judicious use of your mrs best hairdryer
Warm them up and peel them off slowly, remove any residue with WD40.
Have you purchased a bike on ebay recently (as above, hair dryer)?

Hairdryer, not too hot or the sticker'll go stretchy/snap. Isoprpyl alcohol's good at melting glue too (or brake cleaner, generally much the same thing)
what Northwind said, but maybe a heat gun if you have one, my new ones a Dewalt don't you know 8) 😳
Warm them with a heat gun or hair dryer and once you've peeled the stickers off remove any residue with Ronsonol lighter fluid.
