Hi, I am looking for some technical help. I have a set of 06-08? talas 36r of which the stud on the lower talas air shaft has sheared off.

My first question is, can the stud be unscrewed and replaced?

2/ If the stud cannot be replaced can i remove the lower air shaft through the bottom of the stantion, if so how?

3/ Does the whole talas cartridge come out in one piece through the top of the stantion or does it need to be dismantled bit by bit as described in the fox service pages including releasing the pressure from the top chamber.

4/ If the cartridge does come as one piece do i need to release the air from the top chamber using the fox specialist tool( of which i do not have or intend on buying)or can i simply remove the top cap and unscrew the large nut or talas cartridge from the top and pull it out leaving it in one piece and pressurised.

5/ Once removed is it then just a case of unscrewing the lower shaft from the upper part as i have been confused by the pages containing settings, will i disturb any of the settings by doing this job?.

Hi, Robin here from Evans Suspension Service Centre
Would take a while to answer all those questions here, but basically you would need to replace the lower part of the talas unit. The small gold coloured part that you've broken is not sold as a spare as it comes as part of the lower talas unit.
Feel free to call us in the workshop tomorrow and i can get you a price for the part and talk you through servicing if you want to do it yourself. Workshop Tel. 015397 32262
Thanks
