Just putting together a new build and I was surprised by the shape of the fork lugs 15mm thru axle. Normally they always look like following 15mm axle with about 20mm flat area;

I just got a new fork out 15mm axle but about 28mm flat area;
The hub looks a little lost in the flat space;
I've got a boost and non boost forks with same lug so it isn't that. One's a Pike the other Lyrik so not that either. Is this normal? Is there a standard I'm not aware of? It'll probably work OK and be held with the axle I'm just used to seeing the hub sit neatly in fork lugs.
I think you need torque caps for the hub
edit : although Sram say you can also use the normal end caps.
Ah thanks, just Googled torque caps and it's another standard I wasn't aware of 21mm standard flange 31mm for torque caps fortunately I can get caps for my Stans hub no problem, I'm guessing there may be universal ones too, or just run without as another option.
I can't be arsed with the Torque Cap thing and just run my Hope Hubs without them.
Works fine without then just a bit more of a faff trying to line wheel up. That said, I use them as I need to take the front wheel off to get bike in car. A few quid well spent over the 4 years I’ve had that bike.
If torque caps are available for your hub its worthwhile getting them, makes it easier to slide the axle in and stiffens the front end up, also makes up look better by hiding the raw alloy dropouts.

There is another option too, if you don't want (or believe) claimed benefits. This will allow for easy swapping of wheels too.
