I've just serviced my Sektor fork and put air in, but the spring rod seems quite easy to push in - should it be? Seems like it needs twice the normal air pressure. I haven't fitted the lowers yet.

[s]That's the negative spring. They aren't particularly stiff normally. It's there to help the fork overcome its initial resistance to moving.[/s]
Actually I think I'm talking rubbish.

Thanks, I'm having a senior moment, but what makes the spring stiffer when the lowers are fitted? If the air's in, the rod's the only moving part isn't it?

See my edit. Perhaps it moves more easily now it's been serviced? Put it back together and see how it is?

Cheers. I've put 70psi in it and I've also filled the damper leg with oil and will leave it overnight. Neither air or oil are leaking so far.
