Was just trying to see if they have any plans to open up but website looks really out of date (2018) same for Facebook. Are they no more?

No news at present AFAIK. My pal lives there.
The staff at pedalabikeaway may have news. Possibly. Or call flyup downhill themselves? Their website tends to be a bit neglected.
I understand BPW have plans to open with reduced numbers. Maybe FOD will be similar.
Although I like that uplift a lot - Sitting in a bus/van with 13 other sweaty bikers doesn’t appeal much right now.
The downhill trails are rammed though.
There were well over 20 bikers gathered at the start mound near the uplift drop off a couple of Saturdays ago. Must be using the push up trail I guess.
Lucky me, I got a tow off a mates ebike.

Hmm doesn't sound great. I was thinking of doing a day trip during the week in early August so maybe butter mid week. Good point about being in bus / van whatever. Probably just push / ride up.

417 uplift running, fod one isn't yet. Fods always busy at the weekends, pleasant mid week though.
Nice pedal up on an eeb, I doubt I would book the uplift again tbh. Wouldn't fancy the ride up on a conventional pedal bike though.

The FOD DH trails are ok / but when I went a few weeks ago GBU and Corkscrew were closed as they’re being reworked / upgraded. The push up track is ok - but the first bit of it is really steep and so it’s rideable but almost not worth riding rather than pushing. I’m not sure a whole day of that is worth it.

Black Mountain Cycle Centre have opened their uplift - not sure if it’s started yet or future booking (I’ve booked for mid-August) - that seems a more sensible idea in the current Covid environment. Their uplift is in an open trailer behind a tractor so you’re not in an enclosed space with panting / sweating people!

I guess if it rains that’s the downside to the open trailer approach.

A bit pointless without them ...I guess Endo and Mr Rooty and the Enduro loop though.

The alternate route up is much better if you have to pedal... follow the red freeminers then cut across... it sounds less obvious than it is in practice. I got shown it by one of the Dad's/Marshals when Jnr was racing and totally avoids the crappy bit.

Yeah, the pushup road is a bit miserable. But the trails are so so fine. On a dusty day I don't think I've ever ridden anything in the UK that I enjoy more than sheepskull and flatland.

BMCC isn't so far away and is also fantastic, and their tractors might be less infecty.

Pushup's not that bad, it's 5 minutes of pedalling up the steep section & the rest is another 10/15 minutes of cruising up.

Still, PABA keeps everyone away from the real gold in the forest 🙂

Pushup is fine. My favourites are Northwind's favourites. Wish I was heading down for my normal summer fun there next week.

Rode that very push up this afto, to get a quick countdown/launchpad in after a loop of the red. Living half an hour away makes it worth popping over when you haven't got all day.

Didn't know bmcc was open again until this thread. I got a voucher for a day's uplift for my birthday last December, so I think I'll be heading over there very soon with fadda jnr.

Regards op, no sign of uplift at the FoD as yet...

Yeah I think sheepskull is up there with the best of them. I often pedal up the push up then instead of heading left up the steep section ride up past the bend in launchpad. It sort of then snakes up to the start of launchpad. It’s not as steep as the Push up climb. But like others have said it’s only a 5 minute pedal on steep stuff
