Anyone know if the trails are accessible 24 hours per day? Going over Easter with the family but to maximise trail time will need to hit them at 0700 so I can get back before the day begins for everyone else

No problem at all. Not sure about the official carpark hours but there is plenty of layby parking on the road nearby.

The gates to the car parks tend to be opened about 7.30-8 depending on which way round the ranger goes round them but you can always park in the few bays directly in front of the workshop as there's no gate due to the Highways Depot being there.  There are a few little places along the road you can park in too and access the trails via a fire road.  There's a good layby just to the south of the Pedalabikeaway turning opposite a few houses, you can pedal up that fire road directly to the bottom of the DH stuff and just past the beginning of the red and blue.  If you do park opposite the workshop remember to get a parking ticket, think it's £7 now and the machines only take coins.

Thanks both - I should be a quick spin away so won’t need to drive - so it sounds like I can go at first light

If you're not driving then yep, trails are open 24/7.  I regularly night ride there if I've got a 'day' off in the middle of a run of nights, usually not the only one out and about either!!

As others have said, no access restrictions to the marked trails if you're riding in. My commute takes me past the cycle centre early mornings; usually only share the path with boar, deer, fox, and squirrels that time of day though.
