A colleague and her husband just arrived home in Hungary.
Having cycled from Glasgow, 2,200miles+ away.
On two bikes bought at RecykaBike, for £75 each.
Panniers from Gumtree and a borrowed tent.
Thier plan was to cycle as far as they could before the 12th of September, when new jobs started.
They had a couple of pages of a European road atlas, and a few printouts of the eurovelo routes.
They had warmshowers or hostels every other night or so.
They quite literally pointed thier bikes east and carried on pedalling....
I'm impressed.
Sounds amazing on all levels.
Sometimes life becomes so busy that it feels like we live in a world without adventure but these type of feats make me want to get out a ride my bike and forget about everything else.
brilliant.
This is where my and the wife differ in our ideas .... if we did that mrs t-r would have it planned down to which towns we would stop in for lunch for the next month
If i did it .... id get on my bike with a map and decide where i wanted to go depending on the weather / scenary / wind direction / food availible/time of day - as ive done many times in the past 😀
Proper job by them though.
*the above is not a moan about my wife btw..... if she wasnt like that our lives would be utter chaos 😀
Brilliant, I love that. Are the new jobs in Hungary? 😀
