I am thinking of building up a Superlight with a view to having a go at some xc races; I would want to use a Rockshox fork and I reckon 100mm is all I'll need (ride in the Chilterns, twisty rooty stuff, minimal rocks).
I'm thinking of a Rockshox Recon Race Solo.....any reason why this would be a bad idea?
Nowt wrong with recons, may not have all the bells and whistles of more expensive forks but they do what they need to.
If you can stretch to it a set of Rebas or sids will work better. Drop me a mail for quotes on 2011 Rockshox stuff if you like, or for really cheap stuff check out sales on the 2010 o.e stuff.
SIDs or it will be a not-so-superlight.
or Fox F series forks if you can find them cheap enough, LOL at Spokes.
Thanks chaps. Looked at SIDs but I think they're a little off-budget! OK Rebas it may be.
LoCo - you have mail.
ygm !
I've got some brand new 2010 Fox F90s (can be easily increased to 100mm) that came with my new bike that I'll be selling cheap if you're interested. I'll have to measure the steerer length but it's off a 19" frame so shouldn't be too short.
Thanks Stevexc but I'll stick to rockshox - I have bad experiences with Fox and stanchion wear and don't want to be stripping them on a regualr basis.
