After an hour or so of riding I get numb wrist / hands . I have tried different rises, different widths, and now have some nuke proof carbon bars. The hope was to get rid of trail buzz, that could lead to the wrist problem.
Common sense would say that it it too much weight on my arms ... but my bars have never been as high ! anyone have a solution?
Thanks

Ergon GP1 grips mostly sorted it for me. Shape isn't for all tastes though.

I have wrist issues from an old injury and have tried various grips and bars with no real success. Best thing I did was get a decent wrist brace, it has worked wonders. It might work for your problem.

Also have you tried more padded gloves, that's what I use on my road bike when I don't wear my wrist brace and they help dampen some of the road buzz.

My wife had similar from an injury. She saw a physio and did lots of exercises with weighted bags to strengthen it. Whilst it was weak she rode with a wrist support. I don't think the bars/grips had much to do with it.

More sweep for me. Like Mary bars. It seems to be the natural position for your wrists. Hold a wooden spoon in on hand. Put your arm out as if cycling. My wooden spoon always seems to be roughly parallel to the grips on Mary Bars etc. Loads of other seem to have found the same thing

Idiot question. I assume you have suspension?

Try the esi foam grips without inserts?

Going out on a limb here (excusing the non intentional pun), how is your riding position?

BITD when 150mm stems were all the rage and I knew no better, I would get wrist and shoulder pain following lengthy rides. Magically disappeared after fitting my original stem.

From that I learnt not to follow ‘fashion’ and set my bikes up so they suited me.

second mary or other swept back bars. the grip needs to angle in towards you and downwards to get a natural relaxed position for your wrist. Also are you doing the death grip?

I've found doing these exercises regularly had really helped my wrists

I'd consider different sweep as opposed to rise & width.

Salsa Bend 2 bar is available in 17' & 23' sweep whilst maintaining your current stem length.

Try different sweeps. I love On One Fleegle Pros, usually on offer for super cheap on PX.

I hear Rev Grips have helped some people with wrist pain/injuries.
